INTERVIEW WITH AKIN’MADE
It’s a great honour and Privilege to have you with us again sir and we’re very grateful for thatHow has your Music Career been so far in the year 2021
Question 1: How has your Music Career been so far in the year 2021??
Akinmade:
It’s been challenging and amazing, Faithful is he that called me to serve, you know life itself is not a bed of roses, so I thank God for both the good and bad days.
Above all, it’s been a beautiful journey.
Question 2: What has been the challenge or what are the hurdles associated with Doing Music as a Full-time venture???
Akinmade:
It’s basically about provision and source for funds, also getting the worth of the value you are providing.
Most of our people here find it difficult to appreciate Christian creatives and some are even stilm arguing if they should be paid for certain things or what they should be paid even.
Also, the resources to manage the team, host events and meeting, market and promote projects, audios and push the broad more aggresively.
Question 3: The Akinmade and Sweet Sound Brand as been known for making a difference and thinking outside the bus musically, And we know that doing that especially in this kind of environment will not be an easy task,. How have you been overcoming the fear of acceptance by your audience?
Akinmade:
Hmmn, this is a tough one. In this environment, it’s hard to merge Professionalism and Acceptability.
At one end, what is professional is not acceptable and then what isn’t professional is the one acceptable.
We have struggled to define what good music is and how it ought to be done. But you know, the blind may not see but knows the taste of good food, so those who have great ears know the difference when we do our thing and gradually, we are making impact by the day.
Question 4: Should We watch out for any project from the Brand before this year runs out?
Akinmade: Oh no, asides the MusiciansMEET conference. It’s been a hell of a busy, but productive year.
Question 5: How’s has preparation towards Musician Meet been sir?
Akinmade: God has been faithful, it has been a bit challenging (You sure do know how it is for gospel folks financially, especially around here) but I am thankful and I would not despise these humble beginnings. Also, quite a number of folks have complained that the ticket fee of #1,000 is on the high side. But, we trust God to open their eyes of enlightenment and understanding, lol.
Above all, I am grateful because i know it’s a success already.
Question 6: If you are to give a guide to musicians about important Things to note when preparing for either a concert or conference like Musician Meet, what would it contain?
Akinmade: I hope I can say this in one word, let me use the word ORGANIZATION or EXCELLENCE. I’ve seen a lot of disorganized programmes, the host is the alpha and omega of the event, no good sound, no follow up with guests, terrible equipments, beginning very late than expected, an MC that does not understand coordination, I am not saying it has to be perfect, but it has to be very well organized and excellent.
Oh God, not everyone is fit to host an event but we all want to, what for? I really can’t fathom it, what is worth doing is worth doing well and God deserves our best at all times.
Question 7: What should we Expect in this year’s edition of Musician Meet??
Akinmade: Knowledge, Creativity, Light, Impact, Excellence(as always..*smiles), the Glory of the Lord will be revealed and people will learn lots of new and useful things.
Question 8: Can you feature a Secular Artist in any of your projects? and should we be expecting something of such?
Akinmade: Of course yes, secular itself is not a bad, it’s the world we live in, the extreme us the vulgar and profane. Most of our equipment and media tools even as Christians are made by Secular acts.
So, if I am led to feature a secular act and I am sure the song needs that kind of feel or vibe, I wouldn’t hesitate. As long as it neither demeans the gospel not uphold profanity.
Question 9: When is your wedding sir 🏃🏃
Akinmade: Lol I honestly can’t say a particular time sha, but I am in a serious relationship with the LOVE of my life, a beautiful daughter of zion. Perhaps, 2023 sha or before..路♂️
